Making Money....Luck or Plan and Action?

We all want the easy life....a nice big and comfortable house,a fast car,money in the bank,being recognized at social gatherings,and the list goes on and on.By my calculations to these things mentioned,one needs money.the question now is if getting this money is really dependent on luck or plan and action?
I have been in this world for 25 years and counting and I have noticed that the balance of things is somewhat unfair.You see one who does not have to struggle and hits jackpot and one who would struglle all through and can barely make ends meet.
If given equal opportunites,in the same environment or different environments would there be a remarkable difference?
These questions I ask are as a result of what i came across while checking out the link about the millionaires who hit it before 25years.What did the trick?what have they done that we have not forthose of us who have not made even tens of thousand.Are these people just lucky because they found themselves in such positions...or what could it be.
